The purpose of the District English Language Advisory Committee (DELAC) is to have communication between the District Office, schools, parents and families to support our English Language Learner (EL) students and ensure that EL students are learning as successfully as possible.

Our District English Learner Advisory Committee advises the principal and staff in the development of a site plan for English learners and submits the plan to the School Site Council for consideration of inclusion in the School Plan for Student Achievement. DELAC members also assist in the development of the schoolwide needs assessment.

All are welcome!

Parents of English Learners, parents of reclassified students (no longer in the English Learner program), parents of any student! Teachers, staff members, and community members are welcome too.

When and where are the meetings?

We meet one Monday a month from 5:00 - 6:00 pm in the Gravenstein MPR.

What do you talk about?

Lots of things! We review how students are identified for the program, the reclassification process, community events, annual notifications, and the ELPAC exam.

You can view the meeting presentations below.

The DELAC Board will decide on the topics for the year. These will help them with their responsibilities and be useful to our English Learner community.

Did you know?

We provide childcare during meeting and always have treats!
