Nestled in the picturesque rolling hills near Sebastopol, California, Gravenstein Union School District is home to two award-winning public schools. Gravenstein School, our TK-5 charter school, offers children a wonderful introduction to the educational system. Hillcrest Middle School is comprised of Grades 6 through 8, and its engaging and challenging curriculum paves the way for a smooth transition into high school.

With a commitment to outstanding education, Gravenstein Union School District caters to students from Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade, encompassing approximately 800 young minds eager to learn and grow. More than half of our students (65%) come from beyond our original district boundaries, a testament to the unique and wonderful education we offer.

Gravenstein and Hillcrest schools reflect the rural, tight-knit nature of our community. With small class sizes at each site, our excellent staff and highly involved parents work in partnership to create an educational environment that consistently achieves some of the highest California state test scores in Sonoma County. We are proud to say that we've maintained this tradition of excellence for the last 15 years.
